For almost five years, the map of Chicago has been a great resource for historians, however, the evolving depth of the city’s magic history and the enthusiastic support of local magicians has outgrown its original purpose.
Gordon Meyer, the map’s curator, recently revealed a complete reconstruction of the map that allows the map to be more user-friendly, contain more detail and compatible with Google Earth.
The Map of Chicago Magic covers everything from Chicago’s first documented magic show (in 1834), to the magic shops that once peppered the downtown area and to locations where the public can see Chicago-style magic performed today.
