But first, allow us to outline some changes.
First, the size. As editor and publisher, David Ben notes in his Words of Welcome in No. 185, we have more than doubled the average page count over the past three years. This increase, as you can imagine, has also driven up the cost of printing and mailing. Instead of reducing our magazine’s breadth and size, we have opted to keep the larger format, which means a slight increase with subscription rates.
New rates are (in USD) $60 for USA residents and $75 for international subscribers. However to help ease the burden, we are also offering senior discounts for those 65 years young (and older). The senior rate is $50 for American and $65 for international residents.
Next, the production schedule. Yes, we have been quite delayed this past year, but we have now put a new production process in the works and we are working to get back on track. While we will try to keep a quarterly schedule, it may not necessarily reflect traditional dates. We will keep the sequence numbering the same, but months of publication will reflect the current month of printing.
How do I renew?
By check or money order: There is a renewal form in No. 185. You can wait for your form, and mail it in with your check or money order (payable, please, to Magicana); or you can go and download it now.
Online: Use our online option to pay with PayPal, where you can use your credit card or debit.
To reiterate past posts, we are now on a digital system of printing and we ONLY print to meet our subscriber count. As a result, there are very few extra copies available.
Renew soon and you will enjoy the continued benefits of receiving four issues of Magicol (No.s 186, 187, 188 and 189), and other benefits such as a discounted rate for the 2014 Magic Collectors Weekend in Cincinnati and other discounts made available periodically throughout the subscription term.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us at Magicana.
